Health Canada licences for our hearing aids
Every hearing aid we sell is a Class II medical device. Its exact model number is listed in an active Health Canada medical device licence, held by the manufacturer, Jinghao Medical. You don't have to take our word for it: you can check it yourself in about 2 minutes.

3. What a licence means, and what it doesn't
It means Health Canada has issued a licence for this device, as a Class II medical device, to its manufacturer. A licensed hearing aid can be sold in Canada.
It doesn't mean Health Canada recommends a brand or a store, or that a hearing aid suits everyone.
The licence belongs to the manufacturer, Jinghao Medical, and covers the device. Earnest Hearing doesn't make hearing aids and doesn't hold the licence: we choose the models, sell them and support you.
4. A hearing aid, not an amplifier
A sound amplifier makes sounds louder, but it isn't licensed as a hearing aid. Ours are: the licence names them "hearing aid", Class II.
5. Where we sell, and why
Provincial rules decide who can sell hearing aids, and how. We sell online only where the law allows it without a prescription: Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
In British Columbia, a hearing aid sold this way must meet technical conditions, such as a maximum sound output and a minimum distance from the eardrum. We ship a model to BC only once we have the manufacturer's documents showing it meets them. The in-the-canal JH-A260 isn't shipped to BC yet.
They're designed for adults 18 and over with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss.
